Frequently asked questions
What kind of resort is Vitambi Springs, and how much is membership?+
Vitambi Springs is primarily an all-male, private membership resort for adults over the age of 21. You must become a member to gain access to the resort; membership is $30 per year.
Do you have RV or trailer hook-ups?+
Yes. All 38 sites at Palm Forest offer 50/30/20 amp electric and new eco-friendly septic service. Utilities are buried underground for greater storm protection, safety and aesthetics. Our water is pumped from the Everglades aquifer through a reverse-osmosis filtration system, then pressurized to bring you crystal-clear water free of contaminants. You'll find some of the largest sites available at any park here, as well as cozy spaces tucked into tropical tree hammocks. Most sites average 50′ long by 40′ wide, with many 80–100′ long and as wide as 70′.
Do you have a clothing-optional pool area?+
Yes. The pool is in the clothing-optional section of the park at the Garden Quarter. It's heated on weekends during the cooler months, and guests may enjoy the pool and recreational facilities from sunrise to sunset. Clothing is required in all public buildings and designated areas; however, Vitambi is very large and the majority of the park is clothing-optional, noted with appropriate signage. (See the Rules & Regulations below if you'd like more detail.)
Are there dangerous animals at Vitambi Springs?+
This is the Florida wilderness, and part of the charm is its natural habitat. We recommend wearing appropriate shoes while hiking and paying attention to your surroundings. Animals generally avoid human interaction — there's an abundance of beautiful birds and small animals. Please simply be aware, and never harm or feed any animal or allow your pet to harass one.
Where are the closest shopping and medical centers?+
Clewiston (20 miles north) is the closest city for most anything you need — a Super Walmart, drug stores, fast food, a liquor store, restaurants and a regional hospital with state-of-the-art equipment and a well-trained staff. Other nearby cities: Fort Myers (82 mi), Naples (93 mi), Fort Lauderdale (82 mi), West Palm Beach (80 mi), Miami (88 mi), Tampa (210 mi), Orlando (180 mi) and St. Petersburg (192 mi).
Do you have day passes?+
Yes, but you must be a current member and pay the day-pass rate. Day passes are $15, valid 9am until sunset, and available only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Come enjoy the day with full access to all amenities — the Bongo Bar, BOLO Café, pool and more — plus camp-sponsored events and activities.
Do you have a bar and restaurant?+
The Bongo Bar is a full-service bar with wine, beer and liquor, open and serving on weekends. Our restaurant, the BOLO Café, serves wholesome food on weekends as well. You're welcome to bring your own food and cooking supplies, and rental homes include a complete kitchen with basic necessities. We also have a camp store, Safari Outfitters, with basics for your convenience.
Are pets allowed?+
Yes — we're a pet-friendly resort. However, not all accommodations (e.g. the Pine Tree Inn and the Barracks) allow pets. All pets must be leashed at all times, even at your campsite, and may not harass or threaten any of the park's animals. Aggressive or nuisance animals are not allowed, and there's a limit of two (2) dogs per site or accommodation. Pets are not allowed in public areas or in designated lodging. Always let us know if you plan to bring your pet, and check with staff for restrictions.
What's near Vitambi for day trips?+
Within a 90-minute drive you'll find plenty to do. The Seminole Reservation is just 15 miles away, and their casino is 40 miles away in Immokalee. Everglades National Park, swamp-buggy tours, airboat rides, Corkscrew Sanctuary, a variety of beaches and nature preserves all make for great day trips.
Do you have air-conditioned accommodations?+
Yes. Climate-controlled lodging includes the Pine Tree Inn (eight bedrooms), the Fort Orion Barracks, and the Wood Stork, Blue Heron and Wild Turkey cottages. All cabins have A/C and/or ceiling fans and electricity for your comfort. Heaters are not provided for every accommodation.
